I had the pleasure of henna-ing my friend (and my son's 2nd grade teacher!) at her baby shower this past Saturday. I'm discovering that henna is very popular for moms-to-be of 2nd babies who don't necessarily want the traditional wacky games and gift-giving of showers. It's such a cool way to celebrate the new baby AND the mom!!! I love being part of this!!
Fish and lotus blossoms are such great imagery for new moms (good luck, new life, strength...). This mom wanted to make sure the fish's head was pointing downwards to remind her baby to stay head-down (the baby had been breach just a few days before).
